Look of the Day: 12/21/10

Well here it is, my version of the ever so popular "cranberry and champagne" holiday look for 2010. I used a shimmery cream shadow as a base then only two different shades from the Tarte Jewelery Box. In order to make my crease darker, although the color is the same, I used a pencil brush to place the color and a fluffy brush to blend out the harsh lines. I like how diverse this look is because you can make it wearable for daytime by keeping your lips and cheeks more nude, or play it up for night by adding a more rosy cheek and red lip.

Look of the Day: 12/16/10

If you only ever buy one purple eyeshadow, make it Makeup Forever #92. OH EM EF GEE! I love this shadow like I have never loved a shadow before. It is so diverse and easy to use. The ONLY downside to this shadow is that is stains. Meaning, if you don't really wash your face, it will leave a pink stain when it was. No worries though, it's not permanent. =)

Look of the Day: 12/15/10

Another look from the Tarte Jewelery box!

To do this look I started with a light pink on the inner corner, then blended increasingly darker pinks to the outer corner. With a large fluffy brush, I blended the medium pink into the crease. Using a pencil brush, I blending the darkest pink into the crease and along the lower lash line. I then lined my upper lash line with a light maroon pencil and smudged it out with the same crease color. I kept my cheeks pretty simple, but did a bright pink lip. This look would also look nice with a darker lip, or even a neutral one as well.

Look of the Day: 12/14/10

Another look from the new Tarte Palette. On the outer half of my lid I used a matte dark purple and a lighter, glittery purple. Then on the inner half I used a matte tan and shimmery bronze. In my crease I used the same matte dark purple with a slightly lighter matter purple. The highlight is the same matte tan as the inner corner with a matte light pink as well. I lined my upper lashes with tarte's black pencil and my bottoms lashes with the same matte dark purple. And finally, my favorite mascara, Grow Lucius by Revlon. On my cheeks I used the Tarte bronzer and highlighter to add a light glow.

I am absolutely LOVING this palette!

Look of the Day: 12/13/10

I just got the new Tarte "Jewelery Box" Palette from Sephora and I LOVE IT! This is the first look I've done with it. It took my so long to do my makeup today because I couldn't choose what colors to use; they're all so beautiful! The pigmentation is great and the color really build well. The liners are also wonderful and glide on really easily. I also used the highlight color over Benefit's High Beam, and it was gorgeous as well. Ugh, I just looooove this palette. Such a good buy, and the detachable necklace is actually pretty darn cute.

Behind the Scene

6 hours. 15 girls. brushes. eyeshadow. foundation. blush. photographer. My back hurts. I'm exhausted. Today was amazing!

After attending Kandee Johnson's Glaminar I got started right away designing my website and setting up this photo shoot. Two weeks in the making it was a great success. Of course I ran a little behind, and girls were waiting, and I didn't sit down for more than 5 seconds at a time, and forgot to eat and drink water. But overall, I think everyone had a great attitude and really wanted to participate, which is all I could ever ask for. The environment was so positive. I wish I could do this every day!

This week, and hopefully the rest of my winter break, is so full of makeup. First I've got a class on Monday, potentially helping out with a Christmas play Tuesday and Wednesday, and finally a music video Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I have also been networking with a few photographers in San Jose. I'm making this happen and it's so exciting!

Once I get my photos I can put up my portfolio, get a domain name, and finally get some business cards printed.
